Support Frequently Asked Questions

myExplorer questions

How to access files on my computer?

First, you have to setup the file sharing on your computer.

Next, start the myExplorer application on your phone and tap the Add button on a Samsung Wave phone or select the menu Options -> Add network share on a Nokia phone. This will open a screen with few fields in it.

You have to enter the Computer name, which identifies the computer (How to find out the network name of my computer?). You also have to enter the Folder (share) name, which is the name of the folder that you want to access. If the access to the folder is protected by a password, you will also have to provide the name and the password. Usually they are the same as the name and password that you are using to log in into your computer. More details about the fields in Add network share screen.

When you have finished, tap the Save or Done button. Now, you can tap the folder name on the main screen of myExplorer and the program will connect to the computer to show you the contents of the shared folder.
